IPN Assessments is a self-service diagnostic tool designed to help NGOs understand where they stand within a specific Organisational Development (OD) area. It guides them on their learning journey by providing tailored insights, resources, and connections to relevant support systems.
We currently have two assessments on IPN (click on links below for details):
Co-create new Assessment: Collaborate with IPN to co-design assessments within your area of expertise.
Review & Enhance: Review IPN’s existing assessments and recommend improvements or additional elements.
Beyond assessment development, partners are also expected to:
Recommend relevant resources aligned with assessment outcomes.
Promote and disseminate assessments within their networks.
A partnership agreement will be signed to formalize collaboration and enable data sharing.
Creating new assessments will be taken up based on our roadmap. If you are keen to co-create an assessment in an area not yet covered on IPN, please write to minu.sagar@sattva.co.in
Engagement so far
Since its launch in Jan 2025, close to 300 NGOs have completed the 2 assessments on IPN - Fundraising and Monitoring & Evaluation.

Assessment Structure
Each IPN assessment is linked to an OD area and is structured using a 3-tier diagnostic model:
OD Area: Each assessment is mapped to a core OD area (e.g., Fundraising, M&E). Upon completion, NGOs receive an overall maturity level for the OD area—Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced.
Sub-function: Each OD area is further divided into sub-functions or sub-categories (e.g., Strategy & Planning, Funder Acquisition under Fundraising). NGOs also receive maturity ratings at the sub-function level, in addition to the overall OD maturity.
Indicator: At the most granular level, sub-functions are assessed through indicators, which appear as questions to NGOs. Each indicator is rated on a 2-, 3-, or 5-level maturity scale, depending on the NGO's response.
